When and how can I apply to a Startup Campus Program?
The application process to our programmes can differ, please check the programme for the details.
What type of companies can apply?
We have a range of programmes to support the international expansion of startups from the early stage until the market-entry process. However, all applicants to our international programmes have to have at least 2 team members, one who is fluent in English, an English website, promotional materials and MVP.
Are there specific industries you focus on?
We are a sector agnostics accelerator; however, the majority of our clients are from the FinTech, Digital HealthTech, LifeSciences, Industry 4.0, E-commerce, AgriTech, Energy and CleanTech industry.
Can we set up a phone call to discuss our startup or other questions with you before submitting our application?
Yes, if you wish to discuss the programme details or have any questions that are not answered on the website, you are more than welcome to reach out to us via email and set up a meeting with one of our colleagues.
What happens after I submit an application?
After we’ve received your application, we will review it and get back to you as soon as possible. During the application process we primarily communicate via email.
Can a company outside of Hungary apply?
Yes, companies can apply from anywhere to our international programmes, however, the International Validation and Business Development programme is only for companies registered in Europe and is a cohort-based programme.
How long are your programmes?
The duration of our programmes varies, we have shorter and longer ones, ranging from a couple weeks up to almost two years. For more information, please check the programme descriptions or get in touch with us via email.
How much time should I expect to spend on the program?
We ask companies to appoint one person from the team who is going to be the representative and the go-to-person for information during the programme. This is important, because participating in our programmes is time-consuming. Even though we understand that running a startup is very demanding, to make the most out of our services, one should devote at least 10-15 hours per week to us, besides attending the workshops and personal sessions.
What is the fee for taking part in the program?
The programme fees vary due to various reasons, length, and depth of the programme. For more information, please get in touch with us via email.
Do you take equity in my startup?
No, we do not take any equity in startups. Our business model is based on the programme fees and, in case of successful investment raise, we charge a success fee.
What is the structure of your programmes and what are the workshops on?
All of our programmes are based on the 3E framework – educate, experience, expand, We believe that it is important to first learn and get the necessary know-how, then validate in a safe environment and only then enter a new market. However, this does not mean that an international expansion would be delayed, on the contrary, if the company is ready, the sooner it starts its expansion process the better.
Can I take part of the programme without moving to the programme country?
Currently, all our programmes are online due to the pandemic, therefore, yes it is possible to participate in a programme without being present.
Do you help with the relocation in case I decide to move?
Yes, our International Market-Entry programme offers to guide and support companies in every possible way when they are soft-landing in a new market. We help from in legal, financial and tax matters, as well as finding an office, scouting and hiring local employees.
What happens after the programme when I graduate?
Companies that completed our programmes automatically become part of our alumni portfolio. By being an alumnus, they will receive updates on current events and programmes that could be suitable for them. Furthermore, programme participants that have successfully finished the International Validation and Business Development or Discover Europe programme can enter the International Market-Entry process. (Our International Fundraising programme is open to companies at any stage.)
How do we match startups with mentors and potential investors?
We carefully assess the current stage, strength, and weaknesses, as well as future goals of the companies. Based on our research and personal consultation, we match them to the right mentor or investor from our network. Moreover, we create an extensive tailor-made database where we list the most suitable mentors and investors in the agreed target country.
I’ve already participated in other programmes – why should I join yours?
If you have participated in other accelerator programmes, we may expect that you've reached a higher level of progress and are more prepared to enter a new market than fellow participants. In this case it truly matters what type of programme you have entered before and what your current goals are.
